Meetings will be held May 4, 1981 at Salt Lake City in the Salt Palace; May 5, at Price, Utah at the College of Eastern Utah, Comer Peacock Room; May 6 at Emery High School in Castle Dale, Utah, and May 7 at Green River High School. All meetings will begin at 7 p.m. According to Lynn Leishman, BLM Team Leader for the preparation of the draft EIS, the statement will analyze the environmental consequences of a coal gasification 'facility proposed by Energy Synfuels Associates. The group includes Mountain Fuel Resources, Mono Power Company, and Conoco Coal Development Company. The project could require funding from the Department of Energy and loan guarantees from the United States Synfuel Corporation. The proposed plant would require up to 3.7 million tons of bituminous coal per year from the Emery, Wasatch Plateau, and Book Cliffs coal fields. The shooting followed threats to Brown & Root employees and pipe bombs thrown into the residences of two of the companys employees. On Thursday, April 9, threatening notes were left in a Brown & Root project office at the power plant. The notes demanded that all Brown & Root employees, who are involved in engineering work, leave the site. The next night, Mr. Stilsons house and the residence of another engineer were No one was injured in the incidents. The violence continued with the shooting of Mr. Stilson on Monday, April 13, about 10:30 p.m. in the vicinity of 1st North and Carbon Avenue in Price.
