Shaws Reach Golden Anniversary The Shaw family wishes to tell the LDS church, received her 30 year service award for primary work and is a member of Mu Phi 25th, and passed away the next morning, Sunday, June 26th. Epsilon. They are the parents of seven children, Gerry Lynn (Mrs. Melvin) Taylor, Sandy; Kathleen (Mrs. Reed) Thacker, Cottonwood; Harold John (Rhoanna), Richfield; their many friends and relatives that the honored man became ill during the last moments of the family party, on Saturday, June Terrie Ward Terrie Ward has been called to serve an LDS missio to Winnipeg, Canada, and will enter the training center on July 6. Her farewell meeting will be held July 3, at the Granger 13th ward, 3200 W. 3985 South at 2:15 p.m. The future missionary is the daughter of Colene Baker and Jay Ward. They are inviting family and friends to the home of Arlo Ward, 3007 W. 4060 South, after the meeting. Terrie graduated from Idaho Falls high and also from the of School Word Bryman A family celebration on June 25th marked the Fiftieth wedding anniversary of Harold J. and Maurine Shaw. The honored pair were married in the Logan LDS Temple on June 29, 1938. She is the former the Maurine Lydia Moore, daughter of Mabel Caroline Monson and Samuel D. Moore and he is the son of Pearl Elizabeth Richardson and John H. Shaw. Maurine was bom in Pleasant Grove, Utah, graduated from Millard high in 1934 and after the family moved to Sandy, attended the University of Utah for one year. Harold had been bom in Murray, but his parents moved to Sandy and the two of them met in Processing. She is the granddaughter of Arlo and Emelia Ward, West Valley, and Helen Robinson of Newdale, Idaho. OBITUARIES Harold Hughes Harold LaMarr Hughes, BURIED. 59, Wednesday in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park following services at Kearns 2nd ward. He died June 16, 1988. Bom Feb. 23, 1929 to Oran S. and Maida Hansen Hughes. Married Jan. 27, 1953 to Luana Newman in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Scoutmaster for 34 years. Survivors include wife, Keams; children, Janeen Lani Magna; Snodgrass, Hughes, Murray; Marie and Dean Larsen, Keams; Robert and Bernice Hughes, Calif.; three grandchildren, brothers and sister. Preceded in death " by a son, Steven. Ronald Davis Ronald Colby Davis, 23, Wednesday in Mt. View Memorial Estates. He died June 19, 1988. Bom Jan. 26, 1965 to John Sterling and Bonnie Arlene Kuehn Davis. Served four years in the U.S. Air Force; worked as technician, West Valley Dental Group. He has received the following honors this past year: 1369th Airman of the Quarter for Sept. 1987; Outstanding Airman of the Year for his Squadron and Wing; promoted to SrA Below the Zone, and nominated for one of the Twelve Outstanding Airmen of the Year for the Air Force. Harold attended Sandy schools, graduated from Jordan high and then from the University of Utah with a BA in chemistry. Maurine completed her schooling in 1938 with a BS degree in Home Ec and a secondary in Teaching. They first made their home in Sandy, but in 1942 they came to Murray and still remain in the same home. Harold ' retired front" United Smelting and Mining, in Midvale in 1977 and then was employed as an analytical chemical consultant by UV Industries and Sharon Steel Corporation until 1982. They are both active LDS people. He has served in two bishoprics, one in Sandy and the other in the Murray 3rd ward.
