The National Review Board may be coming to check out Granite for the most outstanding school award on Thursday. Friday promises to be busy, beginning with the junior breakfast before school and ending with Junior Prom. One activity which the officers are trying to have approved is mud wrestling. You may think that was a nice list of activities, but be wondering about certain details. The most important event, Junior Prom, will be held at the Sheraton (Ballroom C) from 8 to 11. Tickets may be purchased from the book store for $10. For any other questions, the junior class officers may be contacted: John May, president; Chris V'an Leeuwen, vice que place. Its a building on top of a hill. Cougar Country, they call the territory and I believe they call the building Kearns high school. At this Kearns high school I learned that there are many great things going on and many great people. The first of these great people are the four Sterling Scholar finalists: Arceli Rojas, business; Marisa Palacios, foreign language; Jon Rampton, speech and drama; Maka Haveli, industrial arts. These students seemed to have worked very hard. All of the other earthlings at Kearns show that they are very proud of them and offer their congratulations. Also their hearty best wishes in the final competition. There is a group of these earthlings who competed in FBLA competitions. The winners were: public speaking. Jon Rampton, first; accounting, Wes Nether, second; Natalie Lynn, fourth; business math, James Cleverly, second; office procedures, Lori Jenson, fourth; Stephanie lngleby, fifth; Shannon Simper, president; secretary. As Junior Week is a huge success, be sure to thank the officers for all their hard work. The story of Dolly Levi and Horace Vandergelder that eventually became the musical Hello Dolly" is perhaps even funnier as a play and director Charles Brown and his cast won plenty of laughs from a capacity opening night audience. Danny Grondahl was in great form as the redoubtable Horace and Marcy Lynn Jones was every bit his match as the conniving, but charming Dolly. by There were plenty of high-jink- s Scott Peterson as Cornelius and John Lubbers as Barnaby was a real audience favorite. The two were by Dawn Langford and Rochelle Hallstrom as Irene d All six leads were very good and brought nut the humor to the fullest. And lets not forget Stacey Tibbitts in a knockout performance as Miss Flora. Wilder often uses scenes in which characters in the play talk directly to the audience and this cast handled them well, making the transition from acting with each other to chatting with the audience smoothly and with style. The sets were attractive and func- tional and the three intermissions short enough to keep the audience happy. Thanks to Brown and his crew and cast for an enjoyable evening. HEADLINES by Lory Anderson On this week's episode of "As the Classroom Spins." find out if Lance or Gurt have made any attempts at getting back together. The saga continues The baseball game Friday brought back fond memories for Lance. He remembered those hot summer days in July when he and the guys would play baseball all day long down at the park. One thing Lance had looked forward to about this summer was the fact that he would have someone to share it with. From the way things are going lately, it seems as though Lance might be spending time with the "loner gang." doner gang refers to the large number of young gentlemen who go the entire summer without girl friends Oh, huh? What Lance didnt know Friday was that Gurt was at the very same game against Skyline. She too reminisced on fond memories of the summer. She had looked forward to spending more time with Lance this summer, but it is looking pretty-bleak. . , which will be held Monday evenings from p.m. beginning May 11. I can tell that none of us wants this year to come to an end, especially the seniors. Yep, and if you believe that, Ive got a nice bridge Ill sell you cheap. Well, the fourth term has started and the blaahs have ended. However, an epidemic of senioritis has hit and wont end. Oh well, there are only a few months 1 left.
