Professor Henry Higgins will again succeed in his attempt to turn cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle into a lady as one of the Broadway theaters most successful shows comes to the Taylorsville stage. The production is under the direction of Russell Johnson, with Robyn Jones handling choreography, Gary Jensen, orchestra; Norman Wendel, vocal; Joyce Rawson, scene design and Joanne Carter, props. Anyone interested in participating in organizing a community theater in the area is being invited to attend. Charlie Brown, drama coach at Cyprus, is spearheading the project and inviting anyone in the Cyprus area - or any alumni of the school or faculty member - to participate and help increse the areas cultural involvement. The aim of the session Monday, he explained, is to get community members and people with ties to the Magna area and who love to act involved in presenting live theater. We had a community theater, known as the Community West Theater, in the area some 15 years ago and produces some very good plays, he remarked. I know there are people out there who would be interested in this project. I hope we get a good turnout at the meeting. A production is being planned for the end of the school year, he noted. Entertainment is in store for those who participate at the Senior Citizen Center here, noted director Kathy Kinney. Wednesday, Vera Crawford, vocal artist, will present a musical program and on Halloween youngsters from the Magna Recreation Center will visit the facility decked out in costume. Also on Wednesday, a pumpkin carving contest - with pumpkins provided by the County Division of Aging - is slated, and on Oct. 31 there will be a Halloween party at the center, with everyone invited to ?CTT3TiYlSn dress up and compete for prizes for the best costume. She also noted it is not too earyl for people over age 60 to begin thinking about next months trip, which will be a brunch at the Tooele Center on Nov. 20. The cost for the trip will be $1.50 for the brunch, plus $150 for transportation. The bus will leave the center at 9 a.m. and return by 2:30 p.m. She advised those who intend to go to make reservations earlyOn Nov. 6 a bake sale is scheduled.
