Coach Steve Dallins Kearns team moved out to a 6 mark in the Valley Legion League with a pair of wins during the week. In a July 4th confrontation, the west side crew avenged a they suffered earlier in the season by blasting Murray and Scott Blackner 1 in five innings to put a dampener on Murray Fun Day activities. Cory Sinclair of the West Valley Orcas Swim Team set a new state record in the 100 meter long course freestyle event Saturday. Sinclair, swimming in the boys 8 and under division of the Cottonwood swam the Heights Invitational, event in 122.67. The previous record was 123.0. Sinclair was high point winner in a June 15 meet at Orem.
