Her children will host the special occasion at the home of Thelma W. Jaynes, a daughter, 1420 West 6235 South in Bennion, from 3:00 to 7:00 p m. They request no gifts. Cora was born June 26, 1894, in the area to Taylorsville-BennioCharles Thomas and Sylvia Altheda Rowan Rich. There were three sisters and two brothers, Isabelle Burt Dowding, Sylvia Leone Johnson, Thelma Alice, C. Thomas and Charles Everett Rich, all deceased. Having lived m the Bennion area most of her life, Cora's schooling began in the 64th District school, (later called Madison) and at the Plymouth school Before her marriage she was librarian at the Murray Library and also bookkeeper to Dr. A A Bird. Cora met James Stern Wood at a Rebekahs Lodge party and dated him for three years. In 1915, the two wished to be married but their finances were so low that Stern borrowed $75 and, on January 20th, the pair went by train to Farmington and were married. Six months later they found marriage was proving more expensive than they had anticipated and returned to borrow $60 more. And, for those who think high interest rates are only a problem of today, Cora reminds us that they had to pay a 12 interest rate for that 6 month period. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 30, 1928 and Stern died on September 3, 1983 after 68 years of marriage. Cora and Stern became the parents of four children. They are Everett Dellino, Stern R , Shirley Rich Wood and Thelma Louise Wood Jaynes, all of Bennion. They purchased their home from Coras father and they have lived in Bennion, except for the few years after their marriage, in the very same house. In 1947 the two of them made plans to move into a brand new home in Murray and leave the Bennion area. The members of their ward, in response to the move, gave Cora and Thursday, June 21, WEST VALLEY VIEW )f e 1984 fun family TONGS GQaD)I)nlOElgJ Ethel Bradford, women's editor Shoylynn Toylor Marries William Glad William Todd Glad and Shaylynn Taylor exchanged their marriage vows on June 2nd in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. a The was setting for a wedding breakfast and a reception at the Seville reception center was given later in the evening. n Chuck-A-Ram- The bride is the daughter of Alan R.
