Show At Kearns Junior High - 5B Teens Join To Battle Drug, Alcohol Abuse KEARNS. Teens Against Peer Pressure (TAPP) is the name of a group of students organized at Kearns junior high to increase awareness of problems with drug and alcohol abuse students of junior high age are facing. Leaders of the group attended a youth alcohol treatment seminar held last month to qualify themselves as discussion leaders for student groups which will be held monthly. TAPP leaders are headed by the student PTSA representatives, Peter Madsen, ninth grade; Leah Voorhies, eighth grade; Amber Steed, seventh grade; Andrea Foster, student body officer representative working with Kathy Handley, PTSA health commissioner. The TAPP leaders were invited to attend the preview of the KUED-Tpresentation of The Chemical People, which will be presented Wednesday on TV. The film, hosted by Nancy Reagan, is designed to increase public awareness of the scope of the nations drug and alcohol abuse problems, and to launch effective neighborhood programs to com bat this abuse, said Mrs. Handley. The communion worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school will follow at 10:45. A meeting for Sunday school teachers will be held at noon. A meeting of the worship and music committee will be held tomorrow (Friday) in the home of Duke Bedburg. The youth will meet at the church at noon on Saturday to visit Our Saviors Lutheran church to hear a talk on sexuality. The church council will meet at present the sermon ed.
