An application for a second residential elderly care facility has been submitted to the City Planning Commission by Sue Lantz. On Aug. 11, Mrs. Lantz will seek d approval for a facility on a acre parcel at 3983 So. 3200 West. At its last session (July 14), the commission okayed a request by Mrs. Lantz to operate a similar facility in a home at 4430 W. 3650 South. The two Lantz applications are the first submitted to West Valley since adoption of an ordinance allowing elderly care facilities in all city 3793 W. 3500 on the commissions agenda. Guidelines and criteria to be used during initial health screening of prisoners at the County Jail will be discussed during 2100-240- a meeting here today (Thursday). The meeting of the County Council of Governments will be held at South Salt Lake City Hall, 2500 So. State, starting at 3:30 p.m. The council will meet at the new Riverton City Hall on Sept. 1, rather than Thursday as initially scheduled. Bill Hyde, a spokesman from the County Attorneys office, will initiate discussion about screening processes used to determine whether or not prisoners are mentally or physically fit to be jailed. Winder and his wife Marilyn are the parents of five. They have 12 grandchildren. Councilman Jay Jacksons request for a leave of absence. Jackson submitted a written statement seeking the leave as a result of a charge filed against him the week before by the County Attorneys Office. Realistic Landscapes Featured In Art Show SANDY. Realistic landscapes provide the dominant theme in paintings by Wilma Potter on display at Sandy City Hall, 440 E. 8680 South. The Potter works go on display tomorrow (Friday). A native of Thompson Falls, Mont., Potter uses acrylics after years of painting with oils. She prefers detailed landscapes, particularly of mountain scenes in Utah and Wyoming. Her collection also includes numerous farm scenes. She attended Dixie high, Dixie College and the University of Utah. The Potter woman studied art with S. Ralph Huntsman, LaConte Stewart, George Dibble, Avard Fairbanks, Alvin Gittens and Doug Snow, according to a spokesman for the Intermountain Society of Artists, which sponsors the display.
