As we enter our Homecoming activities, it is only fair to warn you among the students. I must yv find out what this that fierce band of Pirates is about to turn the is all about. I keep a low profile as I world o u S my attention is captured by a group of giggling girls. I innocently work my way over to them. Wow, theyre wondering if any guy will ask them to Homecoming. I cant believe what they are saying. Some are commenting, Nobody will ask me, HAWAIIAN COWBOYS?. . . As I turn the corner, I nearly run into a group of boys coaxing a timid soul into asking his dream girl to Homecoming. It must be true. The excitement must be all about Homecoming. Be brave guys, be confident girls, Homecoming is just around the corner, so ask your dream girl and look for a great time. Saturday is hall decorating, Monday is the car decorating contest and at night the parade which will start at KJHS at 6 p.m., Tuesday, lunchroom activities; Wednesday, carnival; Thursday, breakfast; Friday, the big Homecoming game and dance. Winners in the sophomore elections will be announced next week, so sophomores, show your spirit and vote when the polls open. I would like to wish good luck to the golf, tennis and volleyball teams, as they meet their opponents this week. Be Named TAYLORSVILLE. Homecoming week is in progress at Taylorsville high with main activities scheduled today (Thursday) and tomorrow. Formal attire is appropriate for today, with activities under the direction of the student body officers. A will the morning assembly feature judging of semi-finalis- ts nominated for queen. The six girls will come before a panel of judges who will judge their appearance as well as a previously written statement. The royalty will be announced during the assembly. Also during the assembly will be the singing of Reunited, selected as theme of the Homecoming dance. Candidates for queen from whom the six finalists are to be selected by student body vote are Jodi r, Fellows, Michelle Kim Jensen, Hul-linge- Anja Pederson, Stacie This week at Granger high many activities are taking Richins, Bonnie Sutton, Sue Brinkerhoff, Colette Hansen, Nelva Simpson, Becky Bush, Dana Hughes and Valerie Wells. Tomorrow will be blue, gold and white day, under the direction of the pep club. A pep assembly will be held prior to the football game between Taylorsville Kearns. Half-tim- e and act- ivities will include presentation of Homecoming royalty, performances by the Chirons drill team and the Echelons spirit club. The traditional Homecoming dance will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. in the commons. Playing for the ball will be Legend. Tickets are $6. Tuesday, the girls volleyball team played Bear River. Our volleyball team is very good this year and is expected to make a great showing. Today (Thursday) a lot of sports are beginning at 3 p.m., including golf, water polo and tennis. Also at 3, our sophomore and junior Varsity football teams cross-countr- s down. During lunch the captain of each football squad, sat on a block of ice to see who could sweat it out the longest (Of course the seniors won). Tuesday was prep day. Everyone came with collars turned up and the language became super tubular. Also a pep assembly was held and the cheerleaders introduced the awesome team, (for sure) Wednesday started with everyone saying aloha and wearing typical attire of a tourist in Hawaii. During lunch a group of people drank Hawaiian punch from a baby bottle. Today is army day and lun- Finally, tomorrow things will top off with the annual blue and gold day. This year were adding a touch of flair, with hard hats and boots. Also, Fridays events include the annual alumni assembly, the tea at 1, the parade at 5 on Magnas main street. The run will start at 5:45 and the game will begin at 7. The spinnakers, dance club and marching band will perform during Homecoming ever. Many have been planned to boost the morale of the student body, along with the football team.
