The County Commission will hold a public hearing Monday on its 1982 budget and the property tax levy needed to fund those services. The hearing will be held at 10 y a.m. in Room 404 of the Building. Commissioners are looking at City-Count- more moderate property tax increases than expected earlier in the year because of a current budget surplus. Still, the mill levy is expected to go up, more for unincorporated area residents than for city dwellers. The surplus was expended to eliminate the need to increase property tax even more, commissioners said. As a result, the general fund mill levy apparently will decline by .33 mills, from the current 12.97 to 12.64. County officials had hoped for a larger drop but were stymied tions while state lawmakers develop a formula for funding that enterprise. County officials project that .4 of a mill will provide the revenue the zoo needs. The remaining .08 mill will be used to pay off debts incurred last year by the Salt Palace. Unincorporated area residents are expected to see their tax bills for municipal services climb by 1.76 mills. Most of the increase is being attributed to improved street lighting in the unincorporated area. The proposed mill levies for the county library system and the Health Department were increased slightly, while the .20 mill levy assessed for Hansen Planetarium operations is exCity-Count- y cut in half. pected to be West Valley City - Budget Action Set WEST VALLEY.
