The State Board of Education arranged the tour for a group of goodwill students, and I was fortunate enough to be one of the adults who went along, she explains. The group spent three weeks in China, visiting schools, factories, and meeting the people who stared in astonishment at the foreign- - ers. It was a new experience for us, Americans, to feel like oddities, recalls Mrs. Robison, especially, in the interior regions. Wherever we went, crowds of people would gather to stare at, and touch us. Many of them had never seen round eyes and we were objects of curiosity to them, she tells. The group visited Peking, Sean, Louyang and Lou jo touring factories and visiting many schools.
