Show Thursday, Oct. WEST VALLEY VIEW 15, 1981 Orville Carnahan For Proxy - Rite Is Slated At UTC TAYLORSVILLE. Orville D. Carnahan will be inaugurated as the fifth president of Utah Technical College during ceremonies to be held here Wednesday afternoon. The rites are planned for 2:30p.m. in the auditorium of the Rampton Technology Building. John N. Ter-re- y, executive director of the Washington State Board for Community College Education, will be keynote speaker. He has been involved in higher education since 1964. The investiture will be by Kem Gardner, chairman of the Utah Board of Regents. Salutations are to be extended by Gov. Scott M. Matheson; Dr. Arvo Van Alstyne, commissioner of Utah System of Higher Education; Cal Corbridge, Utah Tech student body president; and f Jerry H. Fullmer, staff and faculty representative. Following the aca- ightwei hunting demic procession, Richard Prows, chairman of the Utah Tech Institutional Council, will give the welcome. Musical offerings will include Craig Stephenson, singing America and the Beautiful numbers by a brass quintet. Dr. Carnahan, who was president of Southern Utah State College prior to his appointment to Utah Tech, will give CGD GOT an inaugural address. Children's Troupe To Perform SALT LAKE. Two dance concerts will be held tomorrow (Friday) at Kingsbury Hall. The University of Utah Childrens Dance Theatre and Dance Ensemble will perform shows at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. to raise money for a European tour. The dance troupe has been invited to perform at the Child fund-raisin- g International Con- ference in Stockholm, Sweden next August. Original choreo- graphy and new compositions by Utah musicians will be featured in the evening performance, a group spokesman said. The program will feature The Nigh- tingale by James Prigmore of Pioneer Memorial Theatre and Mary Ann Lee, director of the CDT and the Tanner Virginia at the Dance program UofU. Also slated are Jac-qu- e Lynn Bells Pierrots Parade and other pieces. Cost of the performance is $5 for adults and $3 for children. The morning performance will be school geared for children. Tickets will cost 50 cents for children and $1 for adults, club officials noted.
