It will take time to finish such a master plan and until then we need to write down and approve a simple statement, or some guidelines, about how we want our city to develop. I feel we need to look at West Valley as a whole and plan a community thats beautiful, convenient, and above all, makes sense to the people who live here. Development should be planned so that necessary projects that are not desirable in residential areas have as few negative effects on peoples lives as possible. I believe that no neighborhood should be sacrificed for future development. I am currently chairperson of the Redwood Community Council. We pride ourselves with our low crime rate, our schools, and our standard of living. Care and concern must be given to the political issues before us if we are to maintain our lifestyle. West Valley City needs professional and efficient police and fire protection. We need city officers that work for the people, not against each other.
