Presiding over the court will be Judge Rex C. Conradsen, 55, lifetime resident of the area who has held the position the past 14 years. He is the last of the county JPs to have a courtroom outside of his home. Conradsen is also the latest in a long series of magistrates to administrate local justice since the justice of peace system went into effect in 1898. He succeeded D. S. Wal- - ker in 1966. Others who have held the position include J.R. Jarvis (father of Howard Jarvis who originated Proposition 13), Edward Sutton, Bill Parley Olsen, Owen Jacobs, Val GarTres-ede- r, field and Tom Burke. Conradsen ruefully admits that when he first took the job he thought it would be easy. But he soon found out that there is more involved than simply levying fines. He also found that the JP job is not just a 9 to 5 thing. . . it is a he added.
