The Groovewill feature live local music, comedy, magic, art shows,lectures and seminars. The location will eventually feature dance,art, and tai chi classes in what Lowrey envisions as holistic living center. “It’s a variety format,” said Lowrey, who is more commonly knownby his nickname of “Doc Loco.” “I don’t know what we're going to have, but we're open to anything,reLowrey andhis family arrived in Pleasant Grove seven years ago and started Happy Valley Tattoo and Piercing in 2001. The Groove will be above the tattoo shop,in the old city hall building on Main Street in Pleasant Grove. The café is meant as a community-development effort, Lowrey said, but beeshad trouble raising et to get the stage and chen finished. Proceeds from Friday’s concert will go to make the café what Lowrey wants it tobe. “We're trying to design eventsso that they'll be appropriate while people are dining,” he said. “They'll be quiet things so people can enjoy the atmore.” The café, whenfinished,will feature an all-vegan menu, including several international dishes. Lowrey’s wife, Kita, will prepare the menu, which will include some of her favorite vegan recipes. “I wouldlike to see kind of a mixtureofdifferent, international, easy-to-prepareitems at the café,” she said. “There are things wecan’t seem to find here in Utah Valley.” Gregor Lowrey wants the Groove to be an all-ages venue ment for anyone interested in performing at the Goove. “Most people who areserious about performing head for the coast,” he said, “and the people who are left behind need more opportunities.” Both the Grooveand the tattoo parlor are part of Whole Life Ministries, which is the Lowreys’s effort to provide for thy living.
