An agreement approved by the Orem City Council July 26 provides for the placementof a police officer at Alpine Life and Learning Center,an alternative high school. SARATOGA SPRINGS Saratoga Springs resident David Crockett has a unique hobby. He runs in racescalled “ultra marathons” that cover up to 100 miles of terrain and take upwards of 30 hours to complete. Since he completed his first race last year, he has runin nine races that took placein eight different states, and hehas lost 50 pounds. Crockett has run against some incredible backdrops in 2004, from MountRainier to the Grand Canyon,and has run three segments of the Pony Express trail. His next goal is to run along the Pony Express trail from Saratoga Springsto the Nevada border, a distance of about 145 miles.
