Jenkins dismissed a defense motion to drop the federal charges against Kleinsmith. The judge also dismissed a motion to continue the trial date and to allow Kleinsmith to file new motions, but he granted a motion allowing two outof-state attorneys to assist in Kleinsmith’s defense. Prison Terms Handed Down SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) — A Third District Court judge has sentenced a man to two concurrent terms of 0-5 yearsin prison in connection with the slaying of the convicted man’s roommate. Judge JamesS. Sawaya ordered Steven Richard Nordgren, 25. committed to the Utah State Prison. Nordgren last month pleaded guilty, after a plea bargaining agreement, to aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a person on ‘ole. The charges stemmed from the shooting death Aug. 25 of David Davis, 25. Davis was found on a couch in the apartment he shared with Nordgren. Police said the victim was shot several days before he was found. Davis died four days later in a Salt Lake City hospital.
