' OFFICERS FOR the coming year are: Jerry Willey, businessman, Layton president; Harry Woodward, Hill AFB civilian employee, THAT MEANS that the administrators will have to come up with a method to determine which teams will go to the state tournament. Take for example the situation in Region Five where there is a strong possibility for a three-watie for second place. Three clubs from the league will be invited to the state 3A tournament. Larry Breon, manager of Anthonys Restaurant, and la Veil Chadbum, manager of the Layton Arctic Circle, point to poster publicizing the Anthonys-Arcti- c Circle Afternoon at the Ball Park Oct. 24 featuring Sky View and Layton Highs Lancers. AS IT stands now the West club has assured itself of first place in the league. record They have a perfect At 0 and play South this week. Even if the Cubs were to win, the Panthers would go as first place since they have defeated all the teams that could possibly tie them. But then comes the mess. Highland is at 1 then followed by Bountiful and Woods Cross Woods at Cross plays Viewmont while the Rams and Braves meet. AFTERNOON CALL PARK 2-- IF BOUNTIFUL beats Highland and Woods Cross downs Viewmont then there will be a three-wa- y tie with only two spots open for state. If Highland wins, then the Braves will be out of the state picture no matter what the Woods Cross Club does, since the Wildcats have beaten the Braves. The other possibility would be if Bountiful wins and Woods Cross is downed by Viewmont, then the Braves and Rams would go. tie though, what would a coin toss involving the three teams. The winner of the flips would go to state as the third place team and then the other two would playoff for second place. ANOTHER WOULD be to get all three involved in a situation. Toss a coin, two losers play one half, the winner goes and the loser plays the third team for the other spot. There isnt enough time for two playoffs involving these three clubs. Maybe the administrators wont have Id wony about it following the games Thursday. But for someones sake I hope they have something planned if the three-wa- y tie shows up. playoff-typ- e Neighborhood Council Of North Davis Will Hold Meeting On Oct. 23rd t The North Davis Neighborhood Councils regular meeting will be held Oct. 23 at the Clearfield Library downstairs at 7 p.m. THE PURPOSE of the council is to eliminate poverty; to preserve and improve the communities service programs; to coordinate and cooperate with to organizations; promote the well being and establish a better relationship among the residents of the council areas; and to secure other and expend money and to hold property for these purposes.
