THE 0 ITSTANDING Employee a. ward was given to Verda (E.arnes) Fisher, a clerk in the hospital's medical records d epartment. The Nursing Excellence award was received by Marie Fonnesbeck. a regi stered nurse currently worki ng in the day surgery unit. Both women received awar ds of $150. an engraved plaojue and a color portrait, and they are eligible for the anr iuat aw ards to be made this faf I. MRS. FISHER was a hospit-- a volunteer when Davis North opened in the fall of 1976 and was later trained in the medical records unit. Her job consists of preparing birth certificates j and coordinating patient charts listing physician and nurse information and medical testing. This is my first real job." said Mrs. Fisher, sho spent the semi-annu- bulk of her adult years raising three children. Every day the job grows in interest and rewards. SELECTING Mrs. IN Fisher her supervisors de- scribed her as having a cheerful attitude with a willingness to help in any way she can. She's a vital asset to medical records and to the entire hospital. Mrs. Fisher lives with Wayne. The awards are sponsored by Humana Inc., the Louisville, Ky. corporation that operates Davis North. Mr. and Mrs. Varge Thompson are now at home after spending the winter months in Mesa, Ariz. Their son Gary and his wife Jill and family flew to Mesa and spent a few days visiting and then helped drive his parents home.
