But his services as an option quarterback have and will continue to be important to us," said Hancock. Wilson who isn't really big by football standards, stands 5 1 1" and 160 pounds. "I guess the think I use to make up for my size is the fact I try to my opponents. If I'll continually do things that they don't expect me to do, it'll make up for any lack of size. I think good athletes do a little more than just the natural reaction to a play, they always do a little more," said Wilson. is $7. Projects that will be done are such things at football jersey, blouses, sweaters, jeans. table setting for the holidays, etc. FOR I CRT HER information contact Barbara Johnson at out-thin- k HO took the place of his good WILSON, friend Robbie Sherwood as the Falcon's No. I quarterback early in the year, doesn't eryoy pain but feels that when a player starts fearing injury, it probably will come quicker to him. Brent Hancock knew in the season's beginning that he had three solid athletes to select from for the Falcon's QB. In fact he said it was the first time ever he'd had three good athletes at one position. WELL, ALL of that has proven a necessity rather than a pure luxury. Sherwood was lost for the year when hit hard in the Woods Cross game and hat's when Wilson entered to propcll Clearfield to a victory. But the third good athlete Junior Jeff Parry, was pu on the spot his knee against d when Wilson Bonneville. We're dang lucky to be in the position to have three good quarterbacks. Each of them have a different dimension but all are vompeti-torhyper-extende- s. HAVING MARK as our No. I takes him out of the defense where he was one of our CltMifickl's Wilson tuns H.miotk's option to pci (rt lion. about playing with them, so that helped my nervousness, he said. WILSON LIKES to create some excitement from the QB spot. He has added a new twist there and runs the option as well as any signal caller in the league; His running ability, besides chewing up some big chunks of yardage, has impressed opposing coaches. Ward Saw-le- y of Davis commented, He's a damn good runner, one of the best I've seen this year." Wilson may not be the passer that Sherwood or Parry is, but he has thrown with pretty fair accuracy thus far. AH in all he has emerged as a pretty fair football quarterback after having begun playing the sport in the ninth grade, tackle football this is. CRAIG HANSEN, who coaches Mark in basketball, summed up one of the instincts Wilson shines in. "One of the things that really impress me is that Mark can perform when the heat is on. When its tough out there, football, basketball or baseball, he is tough too. He isn't the kind to shy away from a situation where we really depend on him, said Hansen. Examples of that are many. Against Woods WILSON, WHOSE father is a counselor at Centerville Junior High, moved to Clearfield from California as Maik was encring the ninth grade. The decision to move West wasnt the original plan though. Jsst weeks before the move, the family had made plans to move to Samoa, where Mr. Wilson was to take on some othec teaching responsibility. But at the last minute the Samoan job fell through and ths move to Utah was made official. Wilson originally was bom in Hawaii which is where he spent part of last summer, picking pineapples and getting relaxed for the upcoming season. I GUESS you could say I'm glad I came to Utah. Samoa probably doesnt even know what a football is, maybe a little behind the times there, said Wilson. When Wilson took over Sherwood in the Woods Cross, he wasnt taking on anything new. He had led this same group of players to a glossy record in JV. "I was pretty confident 77J-JJ0- Cross, Wilson led the Falcons to a couple of TDs, including one he scored himself. Against Davis he caught the touchdown that brought the Falcons to within a point of winning that game. Against Sky View last year in basketball he noticed 18 points including the last second bucket that beat the Bobcats. This list is endless. Recreation Classes Set Clearfield Recreation Department is now offering a girls drill class on Wednesday nights. There will be a beginning class for girls ages from p.m. and an interme3 diate class for girls ages RAY MEIBOS, who coached Mark as a sophomore in football, as junior in basketball and baseball, had these comments. "You have to be impressed with his confidence. He is eady going and seldom gets uptight, but a competitor who hates to lose, "His confidence will make you think that everything goes to his head, but it's not that. Mark isn't cocky, hes just fun loving. Hes always been highly coachable, tries anything you think might be good for him," said Mcibos. I HAVE TO admit that I was a little shy when I first came to Utah, but I snapped out of it quick. Its certainly not me to be shy anymore, I cant even relate with that," said Wilson. 7-- 8 1 p.m. Both classes will start Oct. 6 and run through Nov. 24. from 8-- 9 CLEARFIELD Recreation is also offering an Arts and Crafts class for boys and girls the For age ages class will be held on Tuesday nights from 7 p.m. and for the boys and girls ages class will be held on Thursday from 8 p.m. Both classes w ill start Oct. 7 and run through 4-- 7 2. 6-- 2 7-- Nov. 18. When Id return home from game, a practice or from refereeing a game, Jeff always had to try on my trunks or my practice jersey. Hed dress himself with my cap, my shoes and my whistle. At three, he was quite a sight. Right from the beginning he was gaining some interest, Moon continued.
