Also Mrs. Fords parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Le Dos quet of Boise, Ida. and her sister and family Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Jenkins and children of Pasco, Wash. Canyons. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Bourne and children of Kcxburg, Ida, were visitors of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bourne and et also attended the wedding and reception of their niece. Miss Jodi Bourne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bourne held last week. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Star-ke- y of Southern Utah were guests of Mr. and Mrs. T ho mas L. Starkey and family. They came to attend their grandson Jeff N. Starkey's graduation from Utah State University. JelT received his degree in business administration and finance and a minor in political science from Utah State. He has been accepted to BYU Law School in Provo. Bishop and Mrs. L.D. Covington and their family vacationed in California for2'.j weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Neldon and twin daughters Karyn and Sharyn and their other daughter Myrna and her daughter of Hurricane were guests for two days of Christensen Mr. and Mrs. Max Ward. They came to attend the Christensen family reunion held in Layton. Mr. and Mrs. Ascl Evans and family visited in Vernal with his parents fora few days. Mrs. Lucid Collett and four children vacationed a week in the Hawaiian Islands. BASKETBALL Twelve-year-ol- d Clark Caldwell is the Basketball champ of the Amold-Aing- c Clinic held in Provo, visiting with Cedric Maxwell, left, and Danny Ainge. CHAMP Clark Caldwell. 12 year old Mr. and Mrs. Gale F. Caldwell of Kaysville won the son of Jump Shot and also took second place in the Slam Dunk competition at the Arnold-Aing- e basketball clinic held at Timpview High School in Provo. CLARK IS a member of the team. Their team also took second place in three on All-St- three. Cedric Maxwell, a pro basketball player for the Boston Celtics was the guest lecturer at the clinic along with Danny Ainge. Davis High School, np Pvt. Patricia E. M. Jones Completes Basic Training DURING THE training, stu dents received instruction in drill and ceremonies, in. He attended the 1982 BYU basketball clinic and this summer will be attending the Mike Gardner Basketball camp at CLARK IS a seventh grade Pvt. Patricia E. M. Jones, daughter of Elaine N. and Walter R. Martin of 646 E. 250 N., Kaysville, has completed basic training at Fort McClellan, Ala. student at Kaysville Junior High and his life activities has been centered around basketball playing which he excells weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions. She is a 1977 graduate of Davis High School. Mrs. Ethel Scoffield of Layton Hew to California where she spent six weeks with her daughter and family Bishop David and Mrs. Susan Stayner and six children at New Port Beach. The Stayncrs were moving into a new home at LpointLoma and she helped with the move and also attending school programs with her grandchildren as well as ballet performances. ATTEND JAMBOREE Attending a national scout jamboree from the Kaysville area are Russell and, Kenneth Anderson, Robert Lundstrom and Paul Kirby. Art Exhibit Scheduled At Silver Age Center We have some butter and cheese left at the Silver Age Center, so if you didnt receive any June 23 or 24, and live in Fruit Heights, Kaysville or Farmington, you may pick it up at the center. First come, first served basis only. include: Monday, July 11, meatballs in gravy, whipped potatoes, buttered green beans, fresh fruit finger salad, pineapple twists, milk. TUESDAY, July 12, baked fish sauce, oven browned potato, buttered wedge, rolls peas, circus slaw jelly roll and milk. Wednesday, July 13, fried chicken, rice pilaf, crisp spring salad, hot rolls chilled fruit, boiled raisin cookies and milk. ar ON JULY 18 we are going to have an art exhibit at the Silver Age. We would like to invite the public to stop by and see the beautiful oil paintings our talented senior citizens have done. Those exhibiting paintings are Phyllis Zimmer, Leora Bennett, Helen Barnes, Ruth Gale, Hazel Crawford, and Mabel Bennett. Our instructor for our oil painting class is Mrs. Venlora Clawson, who is a very dedicated, talented and loving person. We all thank her very much for her efforts. AFS Student Visits In Kaysville KAYSVILLE - Mr. and Mrs. Glen Garrett were pleased to have Dr. Eric Grill of Sweden as their houseguest last week. ERIC WAS a student at Davis High School 23 years ago (1960) on the AFS (Amer- -' ican Field Service) Exchange Program and made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Garrett. At TRACIE PEARSON T. Pearson Wins In The Athletics Congress Of USA As a small child, Trade Pearson of Kaysville has enjoyed sports and especially running. she is excelling AT AGE Junior Olympics. She participated in the Athletics Congress of the USA which was held Friday and Saturday at Alta High School. Tracie ran the 200 meter on Friday in the Midget Division, and was one of six top winners. This qualified her for the finals held on Saturday where she placed third in the state. 1 1 in TRACIE now goes into the Western States Regional to be held at BYU on July 15 and 16. She is a quiet but charming petite youngster, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David R. Pearson of 745 E. Cherrywood Drive, Kaysville. Her family moved to Kaysville in 1979. SHE HAS been competing in the Kaysville Junior Olympics the past three years which is sponsored by the Kaysville City Recreation Department. She served as studentbody president at Burton Elementary School the last half of the school year. TRACIE plays soccer and has been a member of several of the All Star teams. She loves all sports and also plays the piano. Her neighbors admire her speed in running. One neighbor commented "She can run like a deer. You never saw a child move along so swiftly. TRACIE IS looking forward to stiff competition, but that does not discourage her. She is practicing every day and look- ing forward to the Western States Regional Track meet with much enthusiasm, np that time the Garretts two sons, David and Steve were home and students at Davis. Now Eric, David and Steve are all medical doctors, a great accomplishment for all three. Dr. Grill visited with David and Steve. Steve and his wife were in Kaysville to attend the 20th Davis High School class reunion and Eric visited in California at LaCanada with Dr. and Mrs. David Garrett and family. ERIC CAME to attend a medical seminar in San Antonio, Tex. and decided to visit in California and Utah before returning to his home. While in Kaysville he also visited with Dr. and Mrs. G. Gibbs Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Casper G. Carroll and many other friends, np Kaysville Mr. and Mrs. Ryal Cox of Bloomington, Ind. and Troy Cox of Mountain Valley, Calif, were guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Cox and family last week.
