Asked if newsmen would be permitted to contact the airmen, Sylvester replied, “I imagine so.” The fliers, whose RB66 reconnaissance bomber was_ shot down over East Germany March 10, now are being questioned in Wiesbaden, Germany, by an Air Force board of inquiry. Sixteen members of the scandalized 900-man police force were immediately suspended and face departmental trials which could cost them their jobs. They also could go to jail if convicted on the criminal charges. Another six policemen cited in the indictment are retired — four of them retiring Tuesday in an attempt to preserve their pensions. The three-week grand jury probe which resulted in the indictments followed a raid by federal agents last June on the headquarters of rackets figures Isaac (Fuffy) Mitchell. Mitchell subsequently was sentenced to five years on income tax evasion charges. 000000000 0006088 000000000000000000080000000000 Newsmento Talk To Three Fliers =Pe TL JEROME, Mo. (UPI) — Four adventurous teen-agers who were lost for 12 hours deep in a maze-like cave were brought out early today by a volunteer rescue team. They were in good condition. A crowd of about 50 persons, including the boys’ parents, gathered around bonfires near the eave while amateur spelunkers searched for the lost youths. Old-timers spun tales about their own experiences in Missouri caves to keep up confidence during the all-night vigil. Police said the youngsters, who were exploring Bruce Cave on the Gasconde River about two miles from here, also built a fire in the cave while they waited for rescuers. The boys were identified as Kennedy Lewis, 15, Gerald Cook, 18, Andy Yousley, 18, and Teddy Miller, 18, all of Rolla, Mo. Police learned the boys were missing Tues when a fifth teen-ager, G Edgeman, 16, found his wa) tt of the cavern shortly after he lost track of his companions at about 2 p.m. C.S.T.
