Show 12 Daily Herald Tucson Nabs TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 1964 Utah County, Utah Abductor of BH Nashville Idaho Girl TUCSON, Ariz. (UPI)—Feder- iy, -ocene of al authorities awaited documents from Idaho Tuesday after they arrested a man on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s 10 most wanted list who is charged with the brutal abduction of a Pocatello girl. Frank Dumont, 42, Boise, was arrested by two off-duty Tucson policemen after a chase on foot of nearly a mile. Policemen Richard Milne and Robert Wilson said they chased Dumont after learning an apartment next to their own had been burglarized. Milne fought a fist fight with Dumontbefore subduing him. Dumontwasidentified through a fingerprint check. He told police he arrived in Tucson on a freight train and broke into the apartment because he was hungry. Dumont was placed on the FBI’s most wanted list several months ago. He is charged at Pocatello with aggravated assault in the abduction of 14-year old Ann Lucinda Sahlberg last October. The girl told officers she was walking down a street on her way home from school when a man she had never seen before stepped up to her and knocked her unconscious. The Sahlberg girl was dragged into a car, but a Pocatello housewife, Mrs. Jenise Crystal, witnessed the abduction and gave chase in her automobile. The girl was pushed out of the car by her abductor who apparently noticed he was being pursued. Dumont was arraigned before U.S. Commissioner Thomas Mc Kay and ordered held under $10,000 bail. The arraignment was continued pending receipt of complaints from Idaho. Tucson authorities filed a burglary charge against Dumont. F Race Riot By United Press International Civil rights demonstrations moved in Monday on Nashville, Tenn., where racial matters had been relatively quiet, and 200 integrationists locked arms *. and sat in the street. At least two integrationists were injured when they were . Struck by police clubs in a * scuffle. Ten demonstrators were arrested. A civil rights leader promised more demonstrations today, apparently aimed at segregated restaurants. Another demonstration was . ate + staged at Madison, Wis., where some 30 singing members of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) paraded at the Capitol with placards urging lawmakers to take action on a civil rights program.
