To help, Douglass explained he was wearing a copper bracelet to ward off a pain he used to have in his wrist. “Those in the medical profession will say there is no curing porver,” Douglass said. There are no angry coaches yelling unmercifullyat the players. There areno longfaces or second-rate efforts in practicing plays or running sprints. The squad, although still lacking from depth and still suffering from some injuries, remains determined that a lot can be accomplished this season — starting Saturday night against the powerful San Diego State Aztecs, “You have to respect their personnel,” sayssplit end Larry Heaps,a senior from Orem,“but everyone can be beaten.” Larryis far from discouraged about the Cougars in 1970. “T still have confidence in our quarterbacks and in our offense,” says the 6-1, 190, end, coach Tom Hudspeth. “If he keeps workinglike he has been, he can be a real help to us the rest of the season.” Larry would like nothing “Obviously, we haven’t jelled yet, But I think it’s a matter of better than to help the Cougars putting it all together.” “We know we have to make a better showing and the cuaches are preparing us well. They have scouted San Diego State well and if we can just do what they’ve beentelling us this week, we can win.” Larry Heaps should have a big part in what the Cougars “do” Saturday night. Last week heled the Cougars in receiving with three receptions for 33 yards — nearly half of BYU's passing yardage.
