Cook, 85, Salt Lake City, who died Tuesdayat his home of a heart ailment, will Former Herald Publisher be held Fridayat noon at 260 E. Rhea Packar* Tackett, 73, wife of L. B. (Jack) Tackett, retired publisher of The Daily Herald,died Wednesday evening of a long illness. She was born March 6, 1897, in ingville, daughter of Dr. Nephi Henry and Clara Sanford Packard, She attended the Springville schools and had two years of high school in Salt Lake City before moving to Ogden. She was the only female president at Ogden High School from which she was graduated in 1916. DENVER. Colo. — Lestra Allen Campbell, 80, Denver, died Mondayat her home. She was a native of Provo, being born December, 1889, a daughter of August and Elon Lavaria Stewart Allen. She married Doc Campbell in Denverin 1925. For many years Mrs. Campbell was employed by the U.S. Post Office Department as a stenographer in Sait Lake City and in Denver. Survivorsinclude her husband of Denver; several nieces and nephews. A son Jay preceded her in death. Funeralservices will be held Friday at 1 p.m.in the Olinger Mortuary. Services Held Today For on H. Hazel SPRINGVILLE — Funeral services were conducted today for Don Henry Hazel, 47, Springville, who died Sunday of a gunshot wound. He was survived by four sisters, including Mrs. Vernon (Darlene) Cloward of Salem. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Brother Of Newspapers. They moved to Provo in 1939 when Mr. Tackett became publisher of The Daily Herald. He rctired in 1965. Mrs. Tackett, well-nown in local affairs, was a member and past president of the Beta Sorosis Literary Club and was affiliated with several other groups. She was a memher of the Church ofJesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Shetraveled extensively with her husband and enjoyed many hobbies, including flowers, golf and gardening, and fishing and hunting. Surviving besides her husband, Provo, are two daughters, Mrs.Dick E.(Vilate) Carver and Mrs. RoyS, (Betty) Lind, both of Portland; five grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; two brothers, W. S. Packard, San Clemente, Calif., and Ira Packard, Ogden; two sisters, Mrs. Marelli Carter, Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. W.E. (Clara) White, Roy, Utah. Funeral services will be Mondayat 11 a.m.in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8p.m. and Mondayprior to services. Theft Reported Spanish Fork Dog Owners Get Warning Spanish Fork have issued a warning to all owners of dogs that the dogs must be kept on their own property and not allowed to run loose in the streets. The warning was given after roaming dogs killed five purebred Columbia sheep on the Glen Bradford farm, located on Highway 91 about one block south of Gridley Chevrolet. There were 38 sheepinjured, and appraisers estimate the loss to Mr. Bradford between $1500 and $1600. Thenightafter the sheep were killed, Mr. Bradford stayed with the herd andkilled two dogs, one of them identified by its owner.
