Mrs,Jex was born Jan.2, 1697, in Lehi, Ariz., a daughier of Samuel Clark and Mary Ellen ‘Tiffany Steele, She married Guy Maurice Hawson Sept. 5, 1923, in the Salt Lake Ternple. He died Oct. 6, 1962. She then married James M. Jex on July 1, 1964, also in the Salt Lake Temple. Mrs. Jex was a head operator for Mountain States Telephone Co. She had also worked at Woolworths and Firmages. As a child she moved to Provo with her mother and attended the Maeser, Central Elementary and Proctor Academy. She worked at Woolworths and Firmages after her marriage and later was manager of Stevens ready to wear in Provo. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in the presidencyof the Relief Society, YWMIA and had taught Sunday School.She had also served as a stake missionary and a visiting teacher. She was a member of the Pelimged to the VFW Auxiliary and was a memberof the Provo Senior Citizens, serving as community contact.
