Judging the event were John Jensen and Kris Christiansen, both of Manti, and acting as ring steward and handing out awards was Jeannie Davis, also of Manti. The show was under the direction of Brenda "Sam DeLeeuw of Manti. Of the 1 2 entries, five w ere selected as class winners. Named as the Largest Pet was Star the pet horse of Tiffany Olson of Spring City. The smallest pet was Topsy Doodle, pet turtle of Jeremy Mortensen, Manti. The best in costume winners were Lisa Bown and Joe Osentowski with their pet goats, Maresy Doats and i rt V. u Dosey Doats from Manti. The Open class was named by the judges as the best trained animal, and this award went to Mister Magoo Hansen, the,bulldog owned by LaNita Hansen, Chester. The most unique award and aptly given, was to Louie the Llama, shown by a father and son duo of David and Daniel Beck of Centerfield. All the class winners were given a five dollar bill and all participants were given rosette ribbons. Of the five class winners a trophy was awarded to Louie the Llama as the most outstanding pet of the pet show. Louie w as purchased in Texas and brought to Utah by a member of the Beck family. He was also exhibited in the livestock building for other attendees of the fair to " I V- :r !' see.
