It looks as though these spots have been filled most adequately with five offensive line signees, and six defensive line recruits. i L - 3 V-f- " j xqi j - .i . tN . The oil will burn the bloom or the leaves. Dormant oils are more useful in Sanpete County. These are highly refined bils' which are heavy" enough to suffocate overwintering eggs of some insect relatives such as scales and mites. Their effectiveness is greatly increased when mixed with an insecticide such as diazinon or thiodan. One of the most destructive insects in our ash trees is oyster shell scale. This can be controlled by applying dormant oil and diazinon before the trees leaf out in the spring. Dormant sprays are disease controlling agents. Their use is for very special circumstances when peach leaf or powder mildew or other such disease problems are known to be present. They have limited use in Utah and Sanpete County gardens Apply dormant oils or a combination of oil and insecticide to apples and other fruits and other ornamental trees as you see a leaf-tip , Unfortunately, these dormant oil sprays do not control many common U serious pests such as cherry fruit fly, codling moth, peach tree borer, twig bore and the various worms and beetles that defoliate elms, box elders and others of our shade trees.
