Seventeen of teacher Bruce Teuchers Spanish students competed with students from several other high schools and went to the finals in vocabulary. Placing high were Andrea Thompson, Matt Jenkins, Tyler Bennett and Susan Anderson. II students: History Center gets $242.76 donation KrlsUe Michelson, Valerie Dewey, Rebecca Anderson and Michael Hughes competed on that level. Students from North Sanpete, Manti, Gunnison, Richfield, South Sevier. Millard and Delta participated in the Funds raised by the Family Genealogical Society were presented to Marilyn Denison, Family History Center Director, for the ManU Utah Stake. Foreign Language Bowl with compeUUon in French and German as well as Spanish. A check for $242.76 was presented by David Mackey, President of the Genealogical Society. The money will buy microfilm, books, atlases, and other supplies to help researchers. The money was raised by the Society at yard sales over the past year, and a 4th of July booth. Formerly an active freelance violinist in the Boston area, she has toured the U.S. as concertmaster with the Goldovsky Opera Theatre. In addition, she has performed extensively as a regular member of the Portland Symphony Orchestra, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, and the Opera Company of Boston. Also acUve as a chamber musician, she has performed in concert at the Boston Museum of Fine Art, the Cleveland Art Museum, the Blossom Festival and the Duxbury Candlelight Concert scrips. This will be a homecoming concert of sorts for Ann who, as sister to Gunnison physician Jan Christensen, and niece of Paul and Delma Dyreng and Morgan and Helen Ciyreng, has many cousins, nieces and nephews in the area.
