The marriage ceremony will take place Saturday, April 30 in the Manti LDS Temple. They will be honored at a reception that evening from 7 until 9 in the Manti Tabernacle. Melanie Is a 1984 graduate of Manti High School and LDS Seminary. She was active In tennis, volleyball, music, drill team and National Honor Society. She was also a Sterling Scholar and the Valedictorian of her graduating class. Melanie recently graduated from BYU with a B.A. in English. She Is employed at the Office of the Academic Vice President of BYU. Mitch Is a 1981 graduate of Manti High School and LDS Seminary. He was active In tennis, golf, baseball, and basketball. He served an LDS mission in the California Arcadia Mission. Mitch attended Snow College and is now attending BYU where he is majoring in American Studies. He is a member of the Utah National Guard and is currently employed at Zions Bank in Provo. The couple will make their home In Provo where both will continue their education. The United States Achievement Academy announced recently that Melissa Johnson has been named a United States National Award winner in Mathematics. This award Is a prestigious honor very few students can ever hope to attain. In fact, the Academy recognizes less than 10 of all American high school students. Melissa is the daughter of Grant and Cathy Johnson. Her grandparents are Mrs. Leah VanBuren of Manti and Royal Ogden. The couple was honored at a reception that evening at the Bungalow in Tleasant Grove by the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Dean W. Harman of Salt Lake City. The bridegrooms parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Gary Anderson, Orem, hosted a reception at the Apple Butter Farms in Provo. The bride will graduate In August from Brigham Young University where she is affiliated with the Young Ambassadors, a BYU dancers company. She has attended BYU Hawaii. ' V.- Mother of the Year, Helen Dyreng, was held Sunday afternoon in the Manti City Building. Mrs. Dyreng, her husband Morgan, her daughters Margaret Nadauld, Marilou Myers, and her son Douglas, along with many of the grandchildren, were in the receiving line to greet many friends and relatives who came to wish Mrs. Dyreng luck during the national being held in competition Puerto Rico this week.
