At Sorensen Field a mile southeast of Ephraim, Gary Jorgenson recorded 1.17 inches of water for December. Thats 126 percent of normal. And for October, November and December, the first three months of the 1991 water year, Mr. Jorgenson measured 3.33 inches. Normal is 2.83 Cooperative weather observer Lee J. Anderson has similar data for the Manti station. He measured 1.32 inches in October, 1.20 inches in November and 1.45 inches in December. Thats percent of the average in Manti for the first quarter of the water year. And its 143 percent of the December average. In addition to gathering the data at Sorensen Field, Mr. Jorgenson travelled up the Ephraim Canyon road to Majors Flat and found that 5 inches of 123 long-tim- e water had been delivered at the Flat Thats exactly the longtime average for that site. Mr. Anderson went back through his records to produce the data for the past five years in Manti: 1987-- 88 percent of average; 1988 100 percent of average; 1989 91 percent of average, and 1990 -- 106 percent of average. Manti High School senior Art Show is being held Jan. 7 through Jan. 12 in the Manti High School library. Mr. Michael Porter, art The instructor for Manti High School, was impressed with the artistic talent displayed by students at the school. He decided that holding an art show would be a fine way to recognize students with these abilities. Plans are to 7-- 12 continue to hold a show each year to feature artists from the senior class. Some of the young people featured this year are: Brandon Stewart, Justin Alexander, Andy Jorgenson, Ryan Shaw, John Barrett, Dede Gubler, Jerome Bown and Justin Ludvigson. The public is invited to attend the art show this week during school hours. School SAT scores are reported Overall, South Sanpete School District tested highest in math and science and lowest in reading and language in the 1990 statewide testing program. The statewide testing program used the Stanford Achievement Test in determining the ranking of fifth, eighth and eleventh grade students in several basic areas.
