ASSOCIATED TITLE PANY A UTAH CORPORATION TRUSTEE By Isl Blake T. Heiner BLAKE T. HEINER ITS; VICE PRESIDENT FC-154- COM- A silent and selfless act occurred in Manti this month. Just as springtime means new beginnings and new hope it really has that meaning for two sisters in Manti. Sami (Baxter) Shipley gave her sister Patty (Baxter) Henningson the gift of life so to speak. Patty had kidney transplant surgery and Sami supplied the kidney. Patty, 32 years old, is married to Ronald Henningson and they have three girls: Chastity, 13 years; Ashley, 6, years; and Jaycee, 4 years. She has been on kidney dialysis for seven months and would have continued to do so indefinitely. As in most cases of transplant surgery of thi s sort, the family is tested first to see if there is a possibility of a matching donor. Sami, who is 22 years old, was the only family member to match up. Sami, her husband Lance and 17 month old son Casey were living in Independence, Kentucky at the time, so Sami flew out to be tested in Salt Lake. When they later informed that she was the perfect donor, they made the decision to move to Manti. Citizens Menus 1 law provided. DATED this 9th day of April, 1991. sKay M. Lewis KAY M. The surgery took place the next day. Everything went well and with no complications. The doctors commented that Patty and Sami had made history at the hospital because they needed only a small amount of pain medication after the surgery was over. Pattys recovery was phenomenal. Samis kidney started working for Patty immediately and kept the nurses very busy. Both Patty and Sami are back in Manti at their homes recovering nicely from the surgery. There will be donation jars set up in some of the Manti stores, and any donations from the public will be greatly appreciated, to help them with the high expenses of the operations. scalloped potatoes, buttered carrots, pear half on lettuce, bread, butter, milkjuice Wed.
