Manti City and farm power line owners are meeting in discussions over 'the rates charged private line owners for electricity and maintenance requirements for the lines. Douglas Barton and David Cox, two of the 25 or so farm line owners, met with the Council last week to clarify the issue. Some of the farm line owners feel that Manti City should review its rate schedule to be sure it is equitable. Much of the power delivered over private lines is used in pump well operation.s On the other hand, Manti City wants the farm lines maintained to standard, as a way of minimizing line loss and not presenting the city with a liability problem. The Utah Municipal Power Association has agreed to assist the city and the farm line owners in evaluating the rate structure. In the meantime, the Council has decided to the Power Board, which will serve the city in an advisory capacity. In another matter, the city administration is requesting the PlanningCommission to review the master plan with particular attention to street utility extensions. The extension question has come to a head because of a property owners request for extensions to a lot within the city limits that has been sold for residential housing. This lot is part of a parcel of undeveloped land that will now be considered for services within the framework of the subdivision ordinance, according to Bill Mickelson, city administrator. The Council also: --Approved the appointment of Ken Lindsay, Wayne Cox and Fred Frischknecht Manti Senior Citizens Menus IMM.llt.llll If T llllllllllf i n .
