(Mary Catherine) Simpson, Mtn. Home, Idaho; Mrs. J. Wayne (Pauline) Francis, Salem; Mrs. Richard (Helen) Swensen, Born Dec. 21, 1907 in Midvale, Idaho to John Ventris and Alice Harold Wintch. Married Fred W. Wintch in Spokane, Washington on Oct. 15, 1924. Marriage was eternalized in the Manti LDS Temple on Jan. 14, 1942. Her husband preceded her in death on July 19, 1985. She was a member of the LDS Church and held various positions of responsibility. She held offices in the Relief Society presidency, Sunday School, Primary and Mutual. Was Junior Sunday School coordinator for 16 years. Enjoyed going to the temple and doing genealogical work for her family . She worked for several years at the sewing Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct 24, 1991 at 11 a.m. at the Manti Stake Center. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery under the direction of Ursenbach Funeral plant in Manti and Ephraim. Member of the Utopia Club. Loved camping, hunting and fishing with her family. She spent the past five years in the Sanpete Home. Halbert S. Greaves Halbert Spencer Greaves, October 16, 1991 while died 83, vacationing in Philadelphia, Penn. Born Oct. 19,1907 in Ephraim, Utah to Peter, Jr. and Katherine Mortensen Greaves. Married Afton Christensen, June 9, 1938 in the Manti LDS Temple. Retired Lieutenant Commander, US Navy, and a veteran of World War II. Also a retired professor from the University of Utah, where he taught for 29 years. Prior to teaching , California and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. An avid student of the life of Abraham Lincoln. Hals variety of interests included gardening, rides in Utahs canyons, bridge, music, sports, activities in the LDS Church, friends and family. Survivors: wife; son, Jerry wife and Barbara; granddaughters, Carol and KelL Preceded in death by a son Peter. Funeral services were held at the U of Mon., Oct. 21, 1991 at the taught at Utah State University, Purdue University, Ephraim High School and the Naval Academies at Monterey, Monument Park 1st Ward Chapel in Salt Lake City. He was a carpenter and loved working with his hands. He helped with the construction of large freeway overpasses. In his early years he erjoyed gardening ancj loved working in his yard.
