Merrill and Verla were married January 23, 1942 in Nephi, Utah. Their marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Merrill, a native of Manti, has been a sheep rancher and also manager of the Manti Grocery for the last 32 years. He served two terms on the Manti City Council. Verla was born and reared in Preston, Nevada. She has been employed at Carlisle Sewing Plant and also at Manti Grocery as clerk and record keeper for many years. Both Merrill and Verla have been active in the LDS Church serving in numerous positions.
