Bailey, of Ephraim, would like to extend a warm invitation to friends and relatives to attend an open house in honor of their parents 50th wedding anniversary. The open house will be held Friday, Aug. 14, 1992, between the hours of6and8p m. at the Ephraim Senior Citizens Center, 85 West 100 North, Ephraim, Utah. Glenn and Barbara were married on March 20, 1942 in the Manti LDS Temple. They are the parents offive children. Kenneth Bailey, married to Linda Wood, lives in Denver, Colo.; they are the parents oftwo children. Mary Lou Gray, married to Robert Gray, lives in Denver, Colo.; they are the parents of five children. Jack M. Bailey, married to Camille Blackham, has been living in Slidell, Louisiana, currently moving to Rangeley, Cecil and Phyllis Cox date golden anniversary they are the parents offive children. Tom F. Bailey, married Colo.: Michelle Peterson, lives in Ephraim, Utah; they are the parents of four children. John C. Bailey, married Kerri Schofield, lives in Ephraim, Utah; they are the parents of two children. Glenn was born in Ephraim and has lived his entire life there. He has been active in civic and church affairs and has worked as an electrical contractor for many years. Barbara was born in Manti and moved to Ephraim when she married Glenn in 1942, and has lived there ever since. She has also been active in civic and church affairs and has served in many capacities. Glenn and Barbara look forward to seeing their friends and family at the reception and request no gifts, please. Rex and Maurine Petersen to observe 50th anniversary Maxine and will Petersen (Braithwaite) observe their 50th wedding Rex anniversary on Aug. 9, 1992. They were married August 9, 1942 in Preston, Nevada. Their daughters are hosting an open house August 9th, 1992 at 152 Tyler Ave., Ogden, Utah. Friends and relatives are invited to attend from 2 to 5 p m. The couple moved from Nevada to Ogden in 1961 and both retired from civil service in 1984. Maxine was the daughter of Clinton and Eva (Hall) Braithwaite of Manti. Their daughters are: Mrs. Don (Marion) Koedyker of Henderson, Nevada; Mrs. Jerry (Josie) VonCannon of Tucson, Arizona; Carla Jones and Mrs. Kurt (Gayle) Gailey, both of Ogden. They also have eight grandchildren. The children of Cecil and Phyllis Cox are honoring their parents with an open house to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, 1992, at the Manti Tabernacle, 1st South and Main, Manti, from 7 to 9 p.m. Cecil and Phyllis were married August 15, 1942 in Ephraim, Utah. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti LDS Temple on Dec. 18, 1963. They are the parents of five children: Ronnie, Brent and Larry, Manti, Joy Ellen, Roy, Ut.; and Michael, Castle Dale. They have 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildre- Cecil served for 2 12 years in the Navy during World War II. I le has organized and served as president of six companies: Cox Distributing Co., Cox Enterprise Co., Cox Construction Co., Cox Leasing Co., Cox Insurance Co. and C & M Loan Co. his companies have been successful due to hard work, long hours, much dedication and good business management. At one time he had four big federal freeway projects going at the same time, and employed 400 men, primarily from Sanpeteand Sevier Counties. She served as leader of the Trailbuilder boys for many years, 2nd year Beehive girls and three years as 2nd counselor in the Relief Society presidency. Also many years as teacher in Primary and visiting teaching. Since retiring, they have enjoyed traveling and playing have won tournaments golf. They together as well as individually. This past year they served as presidents of both the Ladies and Mens Golf Assn, in St. George at the Southgate Golf Course. Braithwaite, son of Paul and Pam Braithwaite, of Salina, will be returning from serving an LDS mission to Costa Rica. He arrives in Salt Lake City on Aug. 6, 1992. It is there that everyone on both sides of the street takes meticulous care of the city property street shoulders right to the asphalt. There are almost no curbs, gutters or sidewalks in Paradise. When the residents water their lawns, they water the grass that extends beyond their property lines. This demonstration of concern really shows their care for how the frontage of their lots appear to all who drive by their yards. I suppose this extra pride concern, and it has. But, does the name Ephraim denote poor quality streets and unkept property frontage? I submit that it means quite the opposite of apathetic performance.
