This is the proposed law that will force Maverick Stores to sop underselling die competition by pricing gasoline cheaper by not allowing credit sales. I personally feel this bill hurts competition and will make all the Maverick patrons pay more if it is passed by the Senate and signed by the Governor. This Bill was passed by the House of Representatives 3ositive Action Students of the Week are Jennifer Barton and Robert Brandt t ence is "Becoming a Zion People through Unified Sisterhood." Thanks for support To the Editor: Now that the holidays are over and my spirit has caught up with my body. I want to take time to thank this wonderful community for your port of the Clothing Bank. This Fall found the temperature inside our building dropping daily until it was near freezing. An enormous Thank You goes to Mountain Fuel Supply for donating a very adequate space heater; with personal efforts from Doyce Coats who gave his blessing and then guided our request through the approval process and to Kevin Brown and Arvin Bean in the Ephraim office. Arvin worked after hours to get heat in before our next day of business! Snow College continues to be more generous. They cooperated with Mountain Fuel in getting the gas line installed and continue to allow us to sue the building rent and utility free. Cecil Cutler, owner of Ben Franklin, and the LDS Welfare Services have donated clothing racks and shelves. Several family groups. Young Womens groups. Upward Bound, and selfless individual shave donated countless hours to sorting and folding. Suzanne Larsen has been wrath her weight in emeralds Manti Couple named as Institute sweetheart couple and diamonds for her support and suggestions. And the community members... Thank You for all of your donations. This would not be possible without your giving! Allow me to give you a brief report We have steadily grown. I am astounded at the need fra assistance. Fortunately, we are able to help many families; in fact we have about 40 clients coming each week, yet we are still trying to reach out and let those in need of clothing know about us. Please help us to pass the word. Remember, there are no forms to fill out anyone that is in need of clothing and without financial means to obtain it is welcome to come, there is no charge for the clothing. We are open every Thursday from 7 pm. in the old Commodore Building, which is the first big building west of West mile west Campus. That is one-ha- lf 3-- of Main Street on First North in Ephraim. Please continue to donate your good, clean clothing and bedding, but, please, do not leave other items or unusable clothing. Our time is all donated and we do not have time, energy, or truck to haul things to the dump. Thank you again and may the Lord of us all bless you. Our committee had the gun control bill debated before us this past week. Cities like Salt lake City are arguing that they should be able to have as strict a law as they want I worry that if all the different Cities and Counties adopt their own gun control laws, there will be great confusion in enforcement Since the Brady Bill will shortly come into effect nationally I think I will vote against allowing all these varied gun control laws to pop up around the state. The gun control debate will resume this week. This past week we voted on two important resolutions. The first dealt with property rights and the second equate funding for DWR will be aided by the Governors request for additional funds. I am convinced however, we will need further supplementary funding to save the Experiment Station in Ephraim and to fund the predation costs.
