Lott and Cofer R. Jay and Lynda Lott of Mt. Pleasant announce the marriage of their daughter, Judy Lynnea, to Daniel Cofer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Cofer of Manti and Shirley Cofer of Daingerfield, Texas on March 26, 1994. Devon Michael Cluff Jerry and Kimberly Cluff and two year old Jennifer welcomed a new baby boy bom February 11, 1994 in the Gunnison Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs 6 oz. and will be named Devon. Devon is the 3rd grandchild for Michael and Jolene Allphin and the 9th grandchild for Janice and Jay Cluff. Great grandparents are Cliff and Jan Spendlove, Leon and JoAnn Gifford and lnard and Edith Shumway. Our exchange with the Gunnison Arts Council, featuring some wonderfully talented young artists, proved very successful. The new exhibit for March will be displays from the Manti Elementary School. Beginning with the Fifth Grade, the grades will be April, running for two weeks each. Mand Elementary has long encouraged creativity and taught the rounded education. For many years the community has enjoyed the tradition of their beautiful May Day celebration. The school halls are filled with wonderful art to inspire the children, and the teachers encourage creativity and individuality in painting and other graphic arts as well as the performing arts. Manti Gty Arts Council is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the Utah Arts Council which will allow us to bring a group of visiting artists into the elementary school. These local artists will spend time in the classrooms working with the children in an intimate teaching setting. Each grade will have a visiting artist We will report further on this program as it progresses. The students at Ephraim Elementary recently celebrated the Readasauruss birthday for the thirteenth time. The celebration was kicked off with the reading of the official Readasaurus Reading Day Proclamation by Mr. Jim Petersen. Coach Canales and several of the athletes from Snov College distributed RIF books to the students. School lunch treated the students to birthday cupcakes, complete with dinosaur eggs on top. Throughout the day, the students participtaed in many reading activities, including: reading, reading contests, listening to stories, reading, writing birthday cards, and letters to the Readasaurus, reading, and even more reading. By one oclock, the gong had echoed through the school 140 times. That meant the students had read Primary Music Showcase Ephraim Utah Stake will musical talents of all their the present Primaries on Sunday, March 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ephraim Stake Center.
