Show Manti MessengerEphraim Enterprise, May 4, 1994, Page 5 Manti High School Names Top Templars Jenny LeOra Henningson is the oldest daughter of Dale and Kay of Henningson and Bryan McArthur, Carl and Louise Poulson, and Clair and Nina Jr. Genius Fair grand-daught- What do dinosaurs, the Chicago Bulls, volcanoes, Mexico, Africa, goats, airplanes, tractors, magic, horses, and dolls have in common? They were all topics at this years Henningson, all of Manti. She has maintained a GPA of 3.942 during her high school years and has earned 42 college credits. Jenny has been yearbook editor this year and was copy editor last year. She was Manti Highs Sterling Scholar in English and Literature and is a member of the National Honor Society. She attended the Governors Honors Academy last summer at Southern Utah University where she earned 6 of her college credits. Jenny loves sports and has worked hard to develop her talents in that area. She has been on Manti Highs Ephraim Elementary Jr. Genius Fair. Over 140 students displayed collections, models and exhibits at Jr. Genius Fair. The fair was culmination of several months work. The students started preparing the the of for the fair by making an outline to guide their study. They read bocJcs, magazines and encyclopedias. They visited with experts and they made Crips to museums and state parks. They wrote books and plays, they created pictures, poems, models, and games. They learned a lot and had a lot of fun. In the picture, Ricardo Montano, Brian Thomson, and Cade Anderson are showing some of the things theyve learned about basketball. One of the students summed it up this way, Ive learned so much I really am a genius! volleyball, basketball, and track teams. She was chosen to represent Manti High School in the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Contest, where she won and was honored by the Salt Lake Chapter of the DAR. Jenny plans to continue her education at Snow College next year majoring in English and Journalism. Wesley Thompson has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school years. He is a three year member of the National Honor Society and has been involved in FHA, FBLA, Jr. Prom Committee, and Homecoming Committee. He also represented Manti High this year as Sterling Scholar in the area of social science. Wes has participated for four years in Manti High athletics, lettering in football, basketball, and track. This year he was named to the Football, first team; All Region Basketball, Most Valuable Player for the All-Regi- Region 12 tournament; All-Sta- te Basketball, second team in the Tribune and Deseret News. He was also honored as Academic in both football and basketball (track has not been announced yet). Wesley served on the Manti High All-Sta- te has Seminary Council, 1992-9been a member of Ephraim City 3, Youth Council for two years, and is an Eagle Scout. Wesley recently returned from the Close-U- p experience in Washington, D.C. and is currently serving as Manti High School Studentbody Secretary.
