Snow College was riding high after the upset in St. George just a short week ago and then reality sank in that there was a new kid in town to face the blue collar Badgers. The Badgers played tough in the first half and fought back from every run that the league leading Golden Eagles threw at them. Snow College trailed by six at half time, but it seemed like the hot hand of CSI would have to cool off at least a little bit. Andrew Mavis finished with points including 4-- 6 from three point range. Seth Miller added 15 more and Brian Kelly was also in double figures with ten. Saturday the Badgers proved that they could win at home as easy as they did on the road when they the Treasure easily 8 for their Chuchars Valley fourth win in the conference. CSIs Jason Buell had 12 points in the opening half, all on three pointers and all from well beyond the NBAs range for the three. That was the difference in the first half as CSI and Snow each had the same amount of baskets, CSI just had six more three pointers. The second half was just the same for both teams, CSI making a run and the Badgers battling back to make it close. CSI just had one more run for which Snow had an answer. Brad Bodily led the Badgers with 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one blocked shot that went about ten rows up in the bleachers. 16 man-handl- ed 97-8- The Badgers started Stan Hales at the point and Brian Kelly at shooting guard to fill in for the injured Mavis. Hales made good use of the start and quickly paced the Badgers to an early lead that they never relinquished. Bodily again led the Badgers in scoring and was more than a bit reluctant to leave the game before Templars corral Grantsville Cowboys 68-4- 9 last Friday By Nate Gcdgc Going into last Fridays game against Manti, the Grantsville Cowboys were 3 and expectations were high in the northern Utah community. Snow College trailed by three at the half, 8 in the CSI game. That lead was quickly erased and the Lady Badgers looked to be in command with a chance to increase the lead to ten with about eight minutes remaining. Thats when CSI made their run. Snow College helped the Lady Golden Eagles with five straight of their 27 turnovers for the game. CSI converted the turnovers into points and came from behind to hand the Lady Badgers loss number five in the conference and number nine overall. Rachel Hester led the Badgers in a losing cause with 15 points and a game high 19 rebounds and four assists. JoLynn Eardlcy had 16 points and Shalaina Berry added 13 for Snow College. The poor shooting of the Lady Badgers continued as they hit on just 34 percent of their attempts from the field and 51 percent of their free throws. Saturday night the Badgers got just what the doctor ordered, a healthy dose of Chukar. Treasure Valley Chukar to be exact Snow College used the Chukars to rebuild some fading confidence in their ability to win. Nannctte Smith used the op-- , portunity to score four points, hand out a couple of assists and take a couple of steals to spark the Badgers. We were trying to get something for Ryan before the clock ran out, said Coach Jon Judkins. I think its important that they all get a chance. We wouldnt be where we are without the help of everyone on the team and that includes that play hard in the practice and make all the others work harder. Hales and Miller finished with 14 points each, Barry Mac Arthur added 13, Ryan Willdcn 12 and Steve Liddiard added ten off the bench as the Badgers had six players in double figures. Snow College goes back on the road this week as they face Colorado Northwestern on Friday and Uic College of Eastern Utah on Saturday.
