Manti City, Manti City businesses and your fellow citizens are requesting your help and assistance. Many of the businesses, homes and public property have invested in civic beautification projects such as flowers, painting, etc. These actions have done much to enhance the appearance of our community and all of us appreciate the work being done. However, there are a few individuals, very few, who seem more bent on destruction on these improvements than on their appreciation. Individually and collectively we like to see civic improvements, whether performed by the businesses (such as the planters onMain Street), citizens or government buildings and we express dismay at vandalism and destruction of these improvements. But just expressing dismay won't get the job done. We are requesting that each faimly address vandalism and graffiti as an inappropriate behavior in their family unit and we are requesting that citizens become more involved. This does not mean you are to go out and apprehend individuals yoil observe doing vandalism but it does mean... Report the who, w hat, where and when of these occurrences on a timely basis. Call 911, call the city offices, if you know the ind ividuals.invol ved and you don't want to bring the forces of law and order on the vandals maybe you would like to speak to their family. Collectively we can curtail vandal ism and enhance and maintain the beauty of our community. This is done with personal action in reporting the problem to the proper authorities ad not by simply saying, "someone ought to do something." Get involved Let's make it a better community for all of us. The staff of the Manti Messenger and Ephraim Enterprise are always looking for ways to improve the quality of our newspapers so that we can better serve our customers. We welcome all suggestions that you might have. tmr "We Are Saturday, June 1, 1996 7:30 p.m. Manti High School Auditorium TICKET PRICES: MO Amanda Moody Miss Utah J99S Without your input, we will never know what we are doing right and what needs fixing.
