Utah are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter. Laurie Canales, to Cody Jan is Strickland, son of CaK in and Julie Strickland of Sterling. Utah. The wed- ding will take plaee on April P '.i. I, 1997 in the Manti Temple. Laurie is a 1980 graduate of Bonncv ille I ligh School. In high school, she was a member of the drill team, the Honnev ille Lakettes. fora years. Alter graduating from high school, she attended Utah State University and was an Aggiette for one v ear and song leader for one year. I auric graduated from HYU w ith her teaching degree. She has three boys: Cluistopher. T.J.. and Cody. Jr. Cody will be a 907 graduate of Manti I ligh School. In his years at Ml IS. Cody has been well known for his accomplishments in football, wrestling, and last but not least, auto shop. Cody also has an awesome dancing ability that has earned him the nickname, "The 'New' New Kid." This happy couple met at a Senior Trip in early October of 096. After sev eral months of secret tokens of lov e. classified ads in code, and stalking by Cody. Ms. Canales finally accepted a date. auric fell for Cody as he danced his way into her heart during his "New Kids on the Block" routine in the Lip Syne Assembly. Cody proposed two weeks later, after a romantic date to the Region 12 basketball tournament at the Seipio rest stop over a bag of pink and white frosted animal cookies and an orange juice candlelight snack. I he two plan to honeymoon on a y cruise around the world and eventually hope (especially Cody) to own their own cruise line. planning meeting 1 30-da- vlf ij if. a Megan I'urlev and Greg llollingshead June I 'ore and Charles Brandt Paul and Becky Lore are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter. June, to Charles "Chuck" Brandt, the son of Steve and Vicki Brandt of Manti. The wedding will be held at Trafalga on the slick track, where she proposed to Charles on the day of her junior prom. The couple w ill reside in the Munti-l.asNational I orest (Manti Canyon) where Chuck will build them a log cabin with his bare hands. June will be working as a lane supervisor at the bowling alley while Chuck will work as the clown at the new Clutekie Cheese in Sterling. June met Charles at the Ephraim Ac-ti- v ity Center sw imming pool, where she saved his life by dragging him to the side of the pool and performing CIR on him after he hit his head on the div ing board. When Charles came back to consciousness. he thought June's face staring dow n on him was the most beautiful thing he had ev er seen in his life. A few day s later. June asked Charles to go on their first date. A few day s after that. June and Charles fell in lov cover a cantelope dinner with a cantelope that Chuck had bought from Kent's and broken over his head. News gets around fustdiowever. Mr. and Mrs. Greg llollingshead were able to keep their whirlwind courtship and marriage a huge secret. Megan Earley llollingshead's very own mother, Beverly Earley, commented. I had no idea my little girl was so grown up." The Love Connection apparently had cupids arrow on their side of the ring when Megan Earley and Greg ere chosen to go on a ro- loll ingshead mantic date together. "1 never knew Gregory was such a sensitive guy." commented Megan. Greg mentioned. "I knew she was the one for me. so went for it." There was definitely not a moment of time wasted. Megan and Greg eloped in Las Vegas. Nevada on March 29. 1997. he exciting event took place in The Chapel of Love, located just east of the strip. The newly wed couple spent an exotic honeymoon on the Love Boat cruise through the Caribbean.
