Show Page 8 Thursday, May 1, 1997 Mpssenger-Enterpris- e - Ephraim City gets By Sherron Andreasen In observance of Arbor Day on April 25, a group of citizens got together to plant chokecherry, linden, hawthorn, hackberry and juniper trees to beautify the bare expanses of Pioneer Park and the Senior Citizen parking lot. Everybody pitched in, including Mayor Gary Anderson, who also delivered an Arbor Day proclamation for the City of Ephraim. The planting of these trees was almost effortless for the group, thanks to the work of about 12 members of the Community Service Committee, a student ser! vice group from Snow College, air circulation. During the month of April students from Manti High prepared and presented the second act of this play as competition for the re 835-228- gion and state drama contests. At region, Melanie Riding won best actress in a supporting role and at state, Maren Peterson won the best actress award. The cast is now preparing the first act to present the play in its entirety.
