Farms recognized were the Edward K. Tooth Farms, owned by W. William Peterson and Bruce M. Peterson, of Manti, and the Orman LcRoy Olsen Farm, ow ned I juicy Utah State University seeks individual(s) to represent the Utah Crop Improvement Association in: Area A: Sanpete, Utah, Sevier and eastern Juab Counties to promote and supervise the seed certification program and to assist seed growers, wildland seed collectors, and seed conditioners in producing high quality seed. Responsibilities include inspections of fields (and wildland seed collection sites) and equipment, collecting seed samples, supervising tagging, and record keeping. Person must have experience in production agriculture, preferably small grains, alfalfa seed, and grass seed, and be able to recognize weeds, and diseases that would contaminate genetic the seed crop and equipment. College credits in agriculture would be beneficial. Person must also have experience with wildland and reclamation plants (native and introduced) and be able to recognize plants and seeds of these species on wildland sites. Person must be able to walk through uneven terrain, climb ladders and catwalks, and tolerate extreme weather conditions, dust, and pollen. Person should live in Sanpete or eastern Juab County for travel efficiency. Vehicle may be provided by employer or person may at times use own vehicle (mileage reimbursed). Flexible work schedule, but 1 4 hr. (occasionally shorter notice at certain times ll of the year) availability required. Approximately 50 hours $500-800 per month; per month depending on qualifications. Qualified person could fill both this position and the Area B position listed below in which case residence should be in a location central to both areas. SVATC does not d,s- - NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE The Sanpete County Water Conservancy is proposing to increase its property tax revenue. As a result of the proposed increase, the tax on a $90,000.00 residence will be $1 5.64, and the tax on a business having the same value as the average value of a residence the taxing entity will be $28.44. Without the proposed increase the tax on a $90,000.00 residence would be $14.1 1 , and the tax on a business having the same value as the average value of a residence in the taxing entity would be $25.65. in The Sanpete County Water Conservancy is proposing to increase its property tax revenue from $1 12,634 collected last year to $129,800 proposed this year, an increase of 15.2. The 1 997 proposed tax rate is .000316. Without the proposed increase the rate would be .000285.
