Likes preservation program To the Editor: My husband and I read with great interest the announcement that Snow College will be offer- ing training in the restoration and presen ation of a variety of old building styles peculiar to Sanpete County. This has been a dream of ours for many years as we have seen the need to help people be- come aware of the historical value and beauty of the early architec- tural sty les that have enriched the area for over a century and, hope- fully, will go on to enrich it until the end of time. Many unique and valuable houses, stores and public buildings have vanished from our architec- tural landscape, some quite re- cently. It is our hope that, vv ith the d interest in restoration preservation and with the re- - chim-perha- ps old building of its character and charm, Ifa new house is ones dream, there are plans available for many past styles, although there may not yet be plans for the styles indig-an- d enous to Sanpete. The senior editor of Channels recently said, Loudness is irritating, which makes it appeal to many advertisers. They louder the sell, they seem to believe, the more likely it is to command your attention. He continues, The FCC has indeed determined that objectionably loud commercials are indeed a reality, that they are contrary to the public interest, and that they can neither be measured nor regulated. He makes a lot of other explanations, but it all boils down to the same thing: the commercials are far too loud. Its like athletes foot, you never seem to get rid of it, but its hardly a serious threat to health. CBS said that it was going to do something about it. I surely hope so.
