He purchased 100 eggs, placed them in his brooder, and waked. Not knowing how long it would take, he called Doug Dyreng, who he knew was an expert in raising chickens, and asked him when he could expect the eggs to hatch. I believe the rule is 21 days for chickens and 23 days for ducks, was Dougs reply. Some time later, Doug met the would-b- e poultry raiser on the street and asked the results. When they didn't hatch on the 21st day, I dumped them, reported the businessman. I didnt want ducks. I was not the person who abandoned these puppies. I was the person who did my best to save them.
