Kristine Frischknecht Anderson, a Democrat, announces her candidacy for reelection. Ms. Anderson has served Sanpete County for 20 years. She was deputy assessor for 13 years, As County Clerk, Ms. Anderson is responsible for overseeing all general elections. She is clerk of the District Court, handling successfully completing courses required by the Utah State Tax Commission in becoming a Certified Appraiser, and is currently completing her second-plu- s term as County Clerk, having been originally appointed to the office in 1989 and elected in 1990 and 1994. The County Clerks office has expanded as Sanpete County has grown and Kristines expertise and experience has been a major factor in the efficiency apparent in Building Skills Workshop termed "huge success" records of court proceedings and filing of Court documents. She is a member of the Sixth District Court Coordination Team and Co Chair of the State District Court Committee for Secondary Contract Sites. Kristine sets the agenda for monthly meetings of the County Zoning and Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustments as well as bimonthly meetings of the Sanpete County Commission and acts as clerk for these bodies. She is the County Records Manager. As the current first Vice President of the Utah Association of Counties, an office to w hich she was elected by hoi peers, Ms. Anderson will become the organisation's President next year. She and three other executive officers lead a 37 member board which determines policies and directs activities for the 29 Utah counties, providing effective county government for the state. Ms. Anderson takes opportunities whenever available, to improve her knowledge of her role as County Clerk through educational courses and certification classes on both state and national levels. Bail: None March 17: 1 March 21: J Pickett Fifteen people attended the Snow College Traditional Building Skills Institute workshop on decorative and fiat plaster. The course included a philosophy of historic preservation practices for the repair, cleaning, coating and the use of decorative and fiat plaster in new construction. The course was taught by master craftsman Dick Cook at Snow College. The students worked on a v ariety of surfaces such as rock, metal, and sheet rock plaster. Russ Mendenhall, Snow College Professor of Building Construction, commented that this project was a great opportunity for students because plaster is a skill you learn. It takes tuning and practice because its critical that the mixing for the three separate plasters is done correctly. There will be three other building skills workshops offered to students, tradespeople, and interested public.
