Manti for 1998, will relinquish her crown to the new Miss Manti on Friday night at the Manti High School auditorium. Miss Christensen has reported the results of her 1998 project, which had as its goal Zero Tolerance for Violence in Public Schools. The goals included: Establish a zero tolerance" policy for w eapons and v iolence; educate the students, parents, and the staff on the polic and its penalties. This would include subjects such as: reporting w eapons or concerns about them, reporting any threat or fear of v iolence. avoiding accidents and incidents in corridors and on school grounds, identifying who belongs in the building, and following up to ensure that troubled students get help. Also to establish a faculty-studestaff committee to help de-- v elop and create a vv ay for students to be able to discuss any fears or informareport any crime-relate- d tion vv ithout any fear of retaliation. M iss Christensen said that the results of a survey taken at Manti tors. and ke boards.
