Each year this unique scholarship is given to the most promising university graduating senior in the field of broadcast communications. Heather graduated from Snow College in 1995 and was accepted into the College of Communicae tions at BYU. prior to her LDS mission to the people of the England London South Mission. She set an example of determination, thoroughness and dependability. She enrolled in elective classes that were much more difficult than those most other students take to fill their requirements, but proved to be far more beneficial for her breadth of education. Professor Paynter said, You may know from watching our Reading Problems? newscasts that when we really needed excellence at the anchor desk, I relied on Heather to offer it. Because of her raw goodness and respect for her colleagues, there was never any envy or reluctance from other students. He added, Everyone loved Heather, and I suppose that is really the essence of my appreciation for her. The week before Heather graduated from BYU, FOX 13 in Salt Lake City asked special permission from Professor Paynter at KB YU and the intern management at KSL Television for Heathers immediate start of their contract with her. Permission was granted and she has been employed on a fulltime basis with the FOX Network, in their Salt Lake office since April 15, 1999.
