Show SHEEP INDUSTRY IN THE PAST YEAR the state board of sheep comm has filed their annual report with gov john C cutler the number of sheep in the state according to the report is of which the approximate value is stated to be the report says the sheep shipped to eastern markets from utah were fourd to be free from disease by the federal inspectors in giec prices obtained for wool and mutton during the past season were not so high as in preceding years but the commissioners state the outlook for 1909 is more encouraging the report states that the government go vern department of agriculture intends to release the utah sheep from quarantine in the near future and to transfer to other localities the inspectors spec tors located in this state and for that reason it is going to require increased labor and expense on the part of the state to maintain a satis factory condition of the tile sheep within the tile state the commissioners therefore ask for an appropriation of fifteen ff teen thousand dollars for the expenses of the commission as against ten thousand dollars appropriated last year LA |
